Welcome to the world of bodyweight exercises where chin-ups reign supreme! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, our 7-week chin-up challenge is designed to boost your strength and help you achieve your first chin-up or take your pull-up game to new heights.
Our mission is simple: to empower you to complete your first chin-up under our guidance. But that's not all! We're here to support you at any fitness level, ensuring that you become stronger and more capable with each passing week.
Duration: The challenge spans over seven weeks, a perfect timeframe to see significant progress in your strength training.
Start Date: We kick off with an initial benchmark test the week of July 28th.
End Date: Seven weeks later, on September 12th, we'll conduct our final test to measure your improvements.
The best part? It's absolutely free! However, for those who are Nerd Fitness Prime members, there's an added bonus of weekly training sessions.
While we highly recommend using a pull-up bar for this challenge, we understand that not everyone has access to one. Don't worry; we'll provide alternatives and tips on how to make the most of your available equipment.
To begin, you'll need to complete our Chin-Up Challenge Benchmark Test. This test will help us understand your current level and set a baseline for your progress.
Levels 1-3: Hanging with feet on the ground, gradually increasing the duration from 10 seconds to 60 seconds.
Levels 4-6: Hanging with feet off the ground, again increasing the duration.
Levels 7-8: Hanging at the top of the bar, engaging your pull muscles for 5 to 10 seconds.
Levels 9-10: Negative chin-ups, starting at the top and slowly lowering down for 5 to 10 seconds.
Level 11: The ultimate goal - performing a full chin-up.
For our Nerd Fitness Prime members, Coach Jim will lead a three times a week training program tailored to all experience levels. You'll receive:
Weekly programmed workouts with video tutorials.
Guidance on how to perform chin-ups with home equipment.
Tips on progressing to the next level of workouts.
Insights on incorporating chin-ups into a full-body strength training routine.
